Bitcoin Continuity Operational Packet
A structured intake, education, and handoff system for advisors who need to help clients think clearly about Bitcoin custody, recovery, and inheritance.
An ETF gives your client exposure. It does not solve custody, recovery, or inheritance. This is the layer advisors use to do the work that exposure alone cannot — without pretending to be Bitcoin engineers, and without leaving the hard questions to chance.
Who this is for
- Wealth advisors, RIAs, financial planners, and family-office staff with at least one Bitcoin-owning client.
- Estate planners who need to ask the right questions without exposing themselves to key material.
- CFAs and CFPs who want a documented, defensible process for the Bitcoin-allocation conversation.
- Bitcoin-fluent advisors tired of explaining the same custody mechanics one client at a time.
Not for advisors trying to learn what Bitcoin is — start with the free Wealth Advisors page first.
What you get
- Bitcoin Client Intake Questions — 31 questions to ask a Bitcoin-owning client without ever touching key material. Categorized by holdings, custody method, recovery readiness, inheritance status, tax exposure, risk posture.
- Custody method classifier — one-page decision tool to categorize a client's setup (exchange, single-sig hardware, multisig, collaborative custody, ETF, mixed) and the standard follow-ups for each.
- Recovery readiness scorecard — defensible 1-to-5 score across nine recovery dimensions, one-page output for the client file.
- Inheritance briefing template — the conversation an advisor leads. Questions to ask, answers to look for, red flags to escalate.
- Engagement letter clauses — sample language for the Bitcoin-related sections, written so legal can adapt rather than start blank.
- Client deliverable templates — three co-brandable one-pagers to hand the client at conversation close.
- Referral path map — when the situation exceeds your scope, who you refer to and why.
- Conflict-of-interest cheat sheet — what you can and cannot do under common compliance regimes, plain language. Not legal advice — a checklist your CCO can sign off on.
- Bitcoin-aware client meeting agenda — three meeting templates: discovery, custody review, annual checkpoint. Timing, talking points, exit criteria.
What this kit is NOT
- Not a Bitcoin-investment thesis. Assumes the client decision to allocate is already made.
- Not a hardware wallet rec list. Custody-method agnostic.
- Not a legal or tax product. Process and conversation infrastructure.
- Not white-labelable at this tier. White-label is part of BSA for Advisors.
Frequently asked
I have one Bitcoin client. Is this overkill?
Even one self-custodying client requires the same documented process. The intake, classifier, and scorecard are the same whether you have one or thirty. Most advisors start with one and acquire more once their existing client tells someone they have an advisor who actually understands the custody side.
Will this teach me how to set up multisig?
No. The kit is for advisors who do NOT need to set up custody — and should not be the ones setting it up. It is the layer above: how you talk to a client about their custody, score it, and document it.
What about the ETF question?
Covered explicitly. Includes the conversation script for "I'll just buy the ETF" versus self-custody, with implications across the eight dimensions advisors care about.
Is this regulated advice?
Process and conversation infrastructure. Not legal, tax, or investment advice. Your compliance officer should review the engagement-letter clauses before deployment.
Can I customize the templates with my firm logo?
The .docx templates are designed for that. Single-advisor license covers internal and client-facing use. Resale or repackaging is not licensed at this tier — see BSA for Advisors for white-label.
